The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine attacked the airfield in the Russian city of Kursk during the night of August 27. The airfield houses aircraft and air defense systems of the Russians.
According to our Security Service of Ukraine sources of RBC-Ukraine, the Kursk airfield was attacked during the night by the military counterintelligence of the SSU.
It is known that kamikaze drones targeted four Su-30 aircraft and one MiG-29. Among the affected targets were also radar systems of the S-300 complex and two Pantsir systems.
Almost all of the SSU drones reached their targets, and according to preliminary information, only three of them were shot down by Russian air defense systems.
"Judging by the fact that even the Russians recorded at least 13 explosions, the impact was significant. The exact consequences of the strikes and the number of casualties and injuries will be determined in the near future," added the SSU.
The successful operation was carried out by the military counterintelligence personnel from the 13th Main Directorate of the SSU.
The governor of Kursk region confirmed that there was an attempt to attack Kursk with drones. However, he only mentioned that supposedly one drone hit a multi-story building.
