At the MSPO 2024 International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce, Poland, LLC "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" presented the remotely operated ground robot UGV "Protector."
"Safe execution of dangerous missions – this is the ideology behind creating the universal UGV 'Protector' platform. Working on this completely new development for our company, we analyzed the experience of military personnel on the front line working with ground unmanned platforms. This robot is designed to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of military personnel on the battlefield," said Vladyslav Belbas, General Director of LLC "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles."
The platform weighs up to 4,000 kg and features a 190 hp engine. It can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. Ballistic protection is at Stanag 4569 level 1.
The UGV "Protector" can maintain communication with the operator at distances over 15 kilometers. The platform is integrated into the ICoMWare situational awareness system, allowing for its comprehensive and extensive use on the battlefield.
According to Belbas, there are currently no similar developments in Ukraine.
"We position the UGV 'Protector' primarily as a logistics platform. However, it can also be used as a reconnaissance robot, a platform for transporting and launching drones from a safe location, for evacuating the wounded, and for delivering cargo and ammunition. It is also possible to use the UGV 'Protector' as a combat robot by equipping it with lethal weapons to destroy enemy armored vehicles or personnel," noted the General Director of LLC "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles."
He also emphasized that an additional advantage of the platform is its low cost and the possibility of rapid production.
