17 countries and the EU provided support to stabilize Ukraine’s energy sector

17 countries and the European Union have provided support to stabilize Ukraine’s energy sector.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, key contributions as of January include:

  • Italy: Delivered around 80 industrial boilers (550–3000 kW) for communities with damaged or destroyed district heating systems.
  • Belgium (Enabel): Supplied 22 mobile boilers and three generators (200 & 40 kW) to Kyiv, Odessa, and Fastiv.
  • Czech Republic (Post Bellum): Procured generators for Lviv, Ternopil, Kyiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Kherson. Člověk v tísni received additional funding for energy needs through the EU Foreign Policy Instruments.
  • Romania: Sent a shipment worth ~€20,000 to the Sumy regional administration – 15 ECOFLOW battery stations and a diesel generator.
  • Bulgaria: Delivered 17 generators of various capacities.
  • Denmark (Bevar Ukraine): Provided industrial UPS units (100 & 80 kW) and a 22 kW generator for a Kyiv hospital.
  • Croatia: Supplied two high-capacity generators to Sumy, with two more planned for Kyiv and Sumy regions.
  • European Union: Donated 445 generators from rescEU reserves.
  • Switzerland: Plans to deliver four medium-capacity emergency generators from the canton of Thurgau.
  • Moldova: Supplied 14 generators to Sumy region.
  • Norway, Germany, Austria, UK: Provided financial support for energy sector equipment purchases (Norway $200M, Germany & Austria €60M, UK £20M).
  • Lithuania: Delivered additional energy equipment, generators, and emergency repair components.
  • Poland: Supplied diesel generators for critical infrastructure and social facilities, including the “Heat for Kyiv” project.
  • Georgia: Donated nine industrial generators for Sumy worth over $553,000.
  • Armenia: Provided 10 mobile inverter generators for schools and medical facilities in frontline areas.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude:

"We are thankful to all donors and partners helping us through this harsh winter. We will always remember this sincere support, the warmth of your hearts in the coldest time in our history."
