Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO aligns with Poland’s strategic, political, historical, and civilizational interests.
This was stated by Piotr Łukasiewicz, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, during the “VOX Ukraine” discussion conference.
“It is our strategic, political, historical, and civilizational interest that Ukraine becomes a member of what was once referred to as the ‘transatlantic enemy’ (NATO),” Łukasiewicz said.
He noted that Polish-Ukrainian relations have undergone a profound and strategic transformation.
“The full-scale invasion over the past three years has truly been a major transformation in Polish-Ukrainian relations,” the diplomat explained.
He added that this transformation “compels us to believe that, for our security, economy, and all kinds of political interests, Ukraine must be in the European Union.”
Łukasiewicz expressed the view that there are shared political, economic, social, and other dimensions linked to EU membership.
“At the second level of this transformation, Ukraine must also be part of NATO,” concluded the Polish embassy head.
