On April 23, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone systems, in coordination with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, carried out a fire strike on a Russian facility producing attack drones. The strike took place over 1,000 km from Ukraine's state border.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Facebook.
The targeted facility is located in the Yelabuga district of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, approximately 1,054 km from Ukraine's state border. The plant has a production capacity of around 300 different drones (including Geran-2, Shahed, and other types) per day.
"Confirmation of hits and explosions in the target area has been received. Currently, we know that the final assembly shop for drones has been damaged," stated the General Staff.
The full details of the damage are still being assessed.
"This strike is a rightful response from Ukraine against a Russian strategic military facility used to support Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and its terror against Ukrainian civilians," emphasized the General Staff.
