Software developer Bohdan Onufriichuk has introduced an app of his own design that searches for movies based on video clips.
"In today's fast-paced digital world, entertainment is meeting technology in more creative ways. Imagine stumbling upon a mysterious video clip—perhaps on social media, shared by a friend, or even an excerpt during a trip—and instantly discovering which movie it’s from," explained the developer.
He notes that gone are the days when you had to manually search for a film using search engines or ask friends to identify it from a short clip. "Video-Shazam uses advanced machine learning algorithms and a vast movie database to analyze and find the right video content in just a few seconds. The result? Instant recognition that turns simple curiosity into a gateway to endless cinematic adventures," the project description reads.
"The magic of Video-Shazam lies in its sophisticated technology," says Bohdan.
How Video-Shazam Works
-
Upload your clip: Simply record or select a short video clip from any device. Whether it's a scene from a blockbuster, indie hit, or even a vintage classic, Video-Shazam can handle it all.
-
Instant search and information: In a moment, Video-Shazam will display the movie’s title along with additional details, such as release year, cast, director, and even links to trailers or streaming platforms. This seamless integration ensures that not only do you identify the film, but you also get to learn more about it. The app's intuitive design makes movie identification as simple as a snap of your fingers. Whether you're a tech-savvy millennial or a movie buff less inclined toward digital tools, Video-Shazam's interface is accessible and easy to navigate.
According to the developer, future updates promise even more advanced recognition algorithms, augmented reality features, and deeper integration with global movie archives.
