The state company Ukrnafta has drilled and launched the deepest well in the last 8 years.

Its actual depth is 4,520 meters, according to the company's press service.

The well was planned as an exploratory one, aimed at revealing deposits of the Visean strata. After perforating the horizon at the interval of 4,481.5 to 4,472.5 meters, a gushing influx of oil and gas was achieved.

"As of November 3, the oil output was 65 tons per day, and gas was 21,500 cubic meters per day," noted Ukrnafta's director Serhiy Koretsky.

The drilling of the well was carried out "turnkey" by an external contractor, the winner of the auction on the state platform Prozorro, LLC "Energo Finance." This is the first of two wells in the field that this contractor is drilling.

Last week, Ukrnafta acquired a special permit for an oil and gas area in the Ivano-Frankivsk region for a period of 20 years. This is the first special permit in the company's history obtained through an auction of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine.
