Ukrainian world boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) defeated British boxer Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) in a rematch. The boxing event took place in London at Wembley Stadium.

The fight was even but controlled by Usyk. In the fifth round, Usyk first sent Dubois to the canvas with a knockdown and then finished him with a precise knockout punch to the jaw. All the heavyweight championship belts were on the line. Usyk held the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO titles, and now took the IBF title from Dubois.

This fight was a rematch after their first bout in summer 2023, where Usyk knocked out the Briton in the ninth round.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Security Service of Ukraine, Commander of the Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, and others congratulated Oleksandr Usyk after his victory over British boxer Daniel Dubois.

“Oleksandr Usyk did it again! Absolute champion. Legend. Our own. Thank you for the strength and inspiration you give to the whole country with every victory. Thank you for carrying Ukraine in your heart every fight. Congratulations on the win — to you, the country, and everyone who cheered,” Zelensky wrote.

Shmyhal noted that the boxer’s victory is an achievement for the entire country.

“Oleksandr Usyk is a three-time absolute champion. An incredible achievement — both personal and for the whole country. Thank you for your resilience, strength, and will to win. Congratulations, champion!” the defense minister said.

The Security Service of Ukraine stated that they were confident in the victory of the Ukrainian boxer.

“Congratulations to Oleksandr Usyk on another victory in his brilliant career! We watched with admiration a match of character, endurance, and skill. And as expected — our Cossack once again left the ring as the winner,” the SSU wrote.

Usyk was also congratulated by the Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, and others.

World boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk has not yet decided on his next opponent after defeating British boxer Daniel Dubois. He said this after the match at Wembley Stadium.

“Who’s next? Maybe Tyson Fury? Maybe Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker? I can’t say yet because I want to go home first,” he addressed his fans.

Usyk stated that his next fight could happen two to three months after resting with his family.
