Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský awarded the medal "For Diplomatic Merit" to Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
This was announced by Lipavský on X (formerly Twitter).
The Czech foreign minister met with Zaluzhnyi during his visit to London.
"His courage and personal example were crucial in repelling Russian aggression, which is an attack on all free and democratic countries. That is why I awarded him the Medal of Merit for Diplomacy," Lipavský wrote.
The "For Diplomatic Merit" medal is awarded by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs for contributions to Czech diplomacy, foreign policy, or exceptional achievements in the development of bilateral relations.
