The format and size of the peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine will depend on the position of the United States on this issue.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during an online briefing.

"All of this (the format and size of the peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine – ed.) still depends on what the United States and President Trump are willing to do in this regard. This is important. It also affects the number of countries that are willing to be present with us. And not only the number of countries but also the personnel strength of each country. With the United States, in one form or another, countries may have a broader representation," Zelensky noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that the issue of the future peacekeeping contingent is still under negotiation.

"As for the size (of the contingent), it will vary, once again, for now because there are different perspectives. It depends on many factors. Primarily, there are countries willing to provide contingents, and countries that are willing to provide contingents in the event of repeated aggression. Among the countries willing to deploy a contingent in Ukraine, some are prepared to do so in hazardous areas, while others are only ready to be deployed, for example, at sea or in major central cities of Ukraine. So, for now, we need to work out a general vision," the President emphasized.

He announced a meeting with Ukrainian military representatives on this matter today in London and his upcoming negotiations next week in France.

"We are currently heading in this direction. It is very general," the Head of State stressed, commenting on the process of creating a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine.
