Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine, Nakagome Masashi. The main topics of the meeting were accelerating humanitarian demining, rebuilding the country, and strengthening economic cooperation.

"We are grateful to Japan for its financial, technical, and advisory support, especially in the fields of energy and food security. Together, we are working to accelerate humanitarian demining—through training sappers and enhancing local operators' capabilities. This is a crucial step for safety and recovery," said Yulia Svyrydenko.

She also mentioned that the upcoming Ninth Joint Meeting of the Coordination Council on Economic Cooperation with Japan and the Ukraine-Japan Business Cooperation Committee "Keidanren" in December would be an important step in strengthening the countries' cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for the event, as well as business forums in Tokyo and Osaka, organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) within the Ninth Joint Meeting. The focus will be on attracting Japanese businesses to Ukraine's recovery projects, localizing production, implementing innovative technologies, and expanding investment.

The sides also discussed Ukraine's participation in Expo 2025 in Osaka, scheduled for April 2025. Japan has provided Ukraine with a free pavilion to promote the country on the international stage.

Yulia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for Japan's readiness to host the Mine Action Conference in Ukraine next year. As she emphasized, Ukraine hopes that the Conference will help solidify partner cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining.
