Russian Shahed-type drones are equipped with a shrapnel warhead designed to cause maximum damage to personnel and equipment.

This was reported by Yuriy Ignat, head of communications for the Ukrainian Air Force, during a televised marathon.

Ignat explained that the warheads of the drones can be thermobaric, fragmentation, or contain shrapnel.

Such weapons spread damage over a large area, posing a deadly threat not only to equipment but also to civilians.

“That is why, during such attacks, all services urge citizens not to stay near windows or on the street, because with such a warhead, the scattering of these elements poses a deadly threat to the lives of citizens,” Ignat emphasized.

This type of weapon demonstrates Russia's readiness to strike with high destructive power.

Russian Shahed-136 long-range drones are now equipped with new 90 kg warheads, both domestically produced and of Iranian origin.
