President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed the legendary Ukrainian footballer and coach Andriy Shevchenko as his external advisor.
The corresponding decree, No. 589/2023, appeared on the president's website on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Andriy Shevchenko is a legendary Ukrainian footballer. He played for Kiev's "Dynamo" and became one of Ukraine's leading goal scorers.
Shevchenko also played for the Italian club "Milan," where he became the team's leader and one of the world's best forwards. With "Milan," he won numerous trophies, including the UEFA Champions League in 2003. His career continued in the English club "Chelsea," although due to injuries and adaptation difficulties, his career there was less successful.
On the international stage, Shevchenko also represented the Ukrainian national team. Subsequently, he worked as the head coach of the national team.
It's worth noting that Andriy Shevchenko also became the first ambassador of the global project United24, a fundraising platform and the primary mechanism for collecting donations to support Ukraine, initiated by President Zelensky.
