Over the past 24 hours, from April 1 to April 2, more Ukrainians returned to the Lviv region through Polish than left. The flow of refugees from Ukraine has decreased significantly, while more people are returning from Europe.

An unexpected phenomenon is observed in Przemysl near the border. Thousands of Ukrainian refugees are returning home, despite Russia continuing to wage war against Ukraine.

The latest data from the Polish border service show that about 12,000 people returned to Ukrainian territory on Monday and 13,000 on Tuesday.

The reasons are very different. Some refugees ran out of money, while others could not find affordable housing outside the special camps. In Poland, which has hosted some 2.3 million Ukrainians, delays in receiving aid from the government have forced some people to head home.

In Przemysl, long queues formed at the railway station in front of trains bound for Lviv, Kyiv, and Odessa. Although immediately after the start of the war they returned to Ukraine empty. For several weeks now, Przemysl has been the biggest hub for Ukrainians leaving their native country.

14,000 people crossed the border to exit through crossings in the Lviv region (since February 24, 1,375,000). More than 19,000 citizens returned to Ukraine in a day. Since the beginning of a large-scale invasion, 556,000 of our fellow countrymen are back
