Sumy region
Between the morning of September 27 and the morning of September 28, Russian forces carried out 92 attacks across 41 settlements in 17 territorial communities of Sumy region, causing multiple casualties, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
In the Konotop community, a 42-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, and a 20-year-old man were injured in a UAV attack. The Seredyno-Buda community saw injuries to a 62-year-old woman from an FPV drone strike, with two other women, aged 74 and 41, also affected. In the Buryntsi community, a 65-year-old woman was injured during a drone strike.
The hardest-hit areas included Sumy, Shostka, and Konotop districts, with Russian forces employing 20 VOG drops from UAVs, 10 GAB strikes, and various FPV and other unmanned aerial vehicles.
Infrastructure damage was widespread:
- In Buryntsi, private homes, a non-residential building, and a civil facility were damaged.
- Khotin saw a private house damaged, while in Sumy, a non-residential building was affected.
- Popivska suffered damage to civil infrastructure, private homes, outbuildings, a shop, and a cultural center.
- Krasnopil had multiple private homes damaged.
- Konotop experienced damage to a civil infrastructure facility, an administrative building, apartment buildings, an educational institution, a shop, and a tram.
On the evening of September 28, a Russian Molniya UAV struck an apartment building in Bilopillya, damaging dozens of windows. No casualties were reported, according to the city mayor, Yuriy Zarko.
Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv region, five settlements came under Russian strikes over the past 24 hours, resulting in two deaths, according to Kharkiv Regional State Administration Head Oleg Synehubov.
He stated that two people were killed and three others were injured, including a child.
- In Slatyne of the Derhachi community, a 44-year-old man was killed, and a 41-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were injured.
- In Shevchenkove, a 67-year-old woman was injured, and in Borshchova of the Lypetska community, a 79-year-old man was killed.
- Synehubov noted that Russian forces attacked the Kharkiv region with one guided aerial bomb, one “Molniya” UAV, two FPV drones, and four other unmanned aerial vehicles of types still being determined.
- In Slatyne of Kharkiv district, three private homes and a car were damaged.
- In Kupiansk district, an elevator in Prykolotne, a private house, and an outbuilding in Starovirivka were damaged.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 145 people over the past day, with 35 remaining. Since its opening, a total of 5,047 people have been registered at the point, Synehubov added.
Dnipropetrovsk region
In Synelnykove district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a man was injured as a result of a Russian drone attack, according to Serhiy Lysak, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
“Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, and Mezhivska communities of Synelnykove were attacked by UAVs. In the latter, a 44-year-old man was injured,” Lysak stated.
He added that several fires broke out, affecting an administrative building, a hotel, and three private houses. A car was destroyed. Lysak also reported that the Russian forces directed heavy artillery and FPV drones at Nikopol, impacting the district center as well as Myrivska and Pokrovska communities. Two homes and an outbuilding were damaged. No people were injured, Lysak emphasized.
Donetsk region
Russian forces injured 11 residents of the Donetsk region on September 28. This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. He stated that on September 28, 11 residents of Donetsk were injured by Russian attacks.
The total number of Russian victims in Donetsk (3,664 dead and 8,226 injured) is reported without including Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Kherson region
In the Kherson region, 5 people were injured over the past 24 hours as a result of Russian aggression, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
He stated that Antonivka, Zelenivka, Prydniprovske, Komyshany, Priozerne, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Kizomys, Oleksandrivka, Sofiivka, Tomyna Balka, Shyroka Balka, Blahovishchenske, Novodymytrivka, Veletenske, Dniprovske, Rozlyv, Mykilske, Beryslav, Mylove, Kachkarivka, Zolota Balka, Rakivka, Novoraisk, Bilyaivka, Burhunka, Novooleksandrivka, Odradokamyanka, Respublikanets, Tokarivka, Tomaryne, Tyahynka, Vesele, and Kherson were subjected to drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling.
Two apartment buildings, eight private houses, outbuildings, private garages, and vehicles were damaged.
Prokudin emphasized that five people were injured due to Russian aggression.
Zaporizhzhia region
The number of people injured as a result of a Russian missile strike on Zaporizhzhia has risen to 49. Over the past 24 hours, the Russian forces carried out 696 attacks on 17 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“Forty-nine people were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia. Overall, over the past day, the occupiers carried out 696 strikes on 17 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region,” he said.
Fedorov specified that the Russian forces launched two missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia. Also, Russian forces carried out 10 airstrikes on Zaliznychne, Novoselivka, Uspenivka, and Mala Tokmachka. 496 UAVs of various types (mainly FPV) attacked Novomykolaivka, Balabyne, Komyshuvakha, Chervonodniprovka, Prymorske, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Zelene, and Charivne. Eight strikes from multiple rocket launchers targeted Zaporizhzhia and Poltavka. 180 artillery strikes hit Chervonodniprovka, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne.
There were 396 reports of damage to housing, vehicles, and infrastructure.
