Russia launches overnight drone and artillery strikes across Ukrainian regions

Odessa region

On the night of November 9, Russian forces attacked the Odessa region with strike drones, according to the State Emergency Service.

“Private residential buildings, a garage, and a gas pipeline were damaged. A fire broke out,” the report said.

The fire has been extinguished.

 

 

Kherson region

In the Kherson region, seven people, including a child, were injured over the past day as a result of Russian aggression. The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported this.

According to him, during the past day, the city of Kherson and another 35 settlements in the region were under enemy drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling.

Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure as well as residential areas in the region, damaging five apartment buildings and ten private houses, Prokudin noted. The occupiers also damaged an administrative building and several private vehicles.

Donetsk region

In the Donetsk region, three people were killed and six others injured over the past day as a result of Russian shelling, as reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.

“On November 8, Russian forces killed three residents of the Donetsk region: two in Kostiantynivka and one in Rai-Oleksandrivka. Six more people in the region were injured over the past day,” Filashkin wrote.

He noted that the total number of victims of Russian aggression in the Donetsk region does not include casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Last night, Russian forces shelled the Dnipropetrovsk region with artillery and attacked it with drones, injuring a 75-year-old man. The acting head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko, reported this.

“The Russians continue their terror. Last night, they launched drones at the Synelnykove district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the Malomykhailivka community, a 75-year-old man was injured. He received the necessary medical assistance,” Haivanenko wrote.

  • The Vasylkivka community also came under attack. Overall, infrastructure and a private house were damaged in the district. A car caught fire, and destruction was recorded at a local enterprise.
  • In Pavlohrad, a Russian drone damaged a local residence. Two outbuildings were shattered, and one more was destroyed.
  • In the Nikopol district, the Russian military targeted the area with FPV drones and heavy artillery, hitting the district center and the Pokrovske community. Specialists are assessing the aftermath.

Sumy region

Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 65 attacks on 31 settlements in the Sumy region, injuring a 78-year-old woman, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

“During the day, from the morning of November 8 to the morning of November 9, 2025, Russian forces conducted 65 attacks on 31 settlements across 12 territorial communities in the region,” the report said.

It was noted that in the Putyvl community, a 78-year-old woman was injured as a result of a drone strike.

According to the administration, the highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The enemy used around 20 guided aerial bombs (KABs), carried out up to 20 VOG grenade drops from drones, 10 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) strikes, and also attacked with FPV drones.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged and destroyed. In the Seredyna-Buda community, a private car was damaged; in the Putyvl community, private houses were hit; in the Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities and a non-residential building were affected. In the Esman community, a private household was destroyed, and in the Shostka community, a civilian facility and a private house were damaged.

During the day, air raid alerts in the region lasted for a total of 18 hours and 57 minutes, the regional administration added.
