SBU counter-intelligence prevented information about the location of the capital’s Defense Forces from leaking to the enemy
The Security Service of Ukraine detained a 35-year-old resident of Kyiv, who acted in the interests of the aggressor country.
The woman, having an anti-Ukrainian position, collected information about the location of Ukrainian military units and strategically important objects of the capital’s critical infrastructure.
She distributed relevant photo and video materials with coordinates through a specially created closed Telegram channel.
Counter-intelligence officers detained the informant while trying to spread another piece of information about the deployment of servicemen of one of the city’s military units.
So far, SBU investigators have informed her of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the transfer of weapons and military supplies to Ukraine, the movement, transfer, or placement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The question of choosing the perpetrator of a preventive measure is being resolved.
The whistleblower was exposed by employees of the State Security Service of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv regional prosecutor’s office.
