Today, it is too early to talk about the liberation of the Kinburn Spit, but it is only a matter of time and the capabilities of the Defense Forces. This was stated on air by the spokesman for the South unit of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhiy Bratchuk.

According to him, the decision to liberate the Kinburn Spit in Mykolaiv region depends on the capabilities and operational tasks of the Defense Forces.

“The decision is made by the higher command. Today, we cannot say that the offensive on the Kinburn Spit will take place today or tomorrow. In any case, it will occur comprehensively and through various means. The question is not whether to liberate Kinburn but rather about timing and the correspondence of the capabilities, resources, and operational tasks that exist today,” Bratchuk stated.

At the same time, he made it clear that the Defense Forces are preparing for the liberation of the Kinburn Spit as one of the key directions in southern Ukraine.

“The actions of the Defense Forces are gradual regarding the Kinburn Spit; there are periodic combat operations taking place there. The goal is, at first glance, obvious, although there are also secret tasks, which include the destruction of personnel, equipment, and weakening the enemy's defenses in this location. It is a key to our advancement and the liberation of our lands,” Bratchuk noted.

He explained the strategic significance of the Kinburn Spit for restoring the operations of the Mykolaiv port and maritime trade corridors.

“The Kinburn Spit and the entire Mykolaiv region must be liberated. Only then will there be a chance for the Mykolaiv port to operate and join the ports of Greater Odesa, thus being able to work towards the export-import corridors of our state. The enemy clings to this location with claws and teeth, as it allows them to maintain pressure on the northwestern part of the Black Sea. On the Kinburn Spit, the enemy replenishes its personnel, weaponry, and has brought several boats from the division of the flotilla of temporarily occupied Crimea,” Bratchuk explained.
