State support is set to drive a wave of energy efficiency initiatives in nine regions of Ukraine, covering both businesses and communities.
Funded by the Ukraine Decarbonization Fund, the projects include solar power plants, heat pumps, building modernization, and other energy-saving measures. According to the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, these initiatives are expected to cut CO₂ emissions by 4,288 tons annually.
In Zakarpattia, a 3.8 MW solar power plant will be built alongside a 6.9 MWh energy storage system to stabilize the national grid, reducing emissions by an estimated 1,437 tons per year.
Zhytomyr will see the installation of an RSE 4500 cogeneration unit at a local plant that freezes plant-based products, cutting emissions by 1,850 tons annually.
In Ternopil, production buildings will be upgraded with heat pumps, a 0.28 MW solar plant, and an electric vehicle charging station, expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 106 tons.
For the first time, the Decarbonization Fund will support energy modernization in a residential setting. In Lutsk, a multi-story condominium will receive facade and roof insulation as well as new doors.
Additional energy-efficient projects are planned in Kyiv region, Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia, signaling a nationwide push toward greener infrastructure.
