As a result of the operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense on the night of May 1, using drones in the territory of the Russian Federation, the Ryazan oil refinery was hit. This information was reported by sources in the special services to RBC-Ukraine.
According to eyewitnesses, the first four explosions occurred on the factory premises around 2:00 AM, after which a massive fire broke out at the refinery. Meanwhile, local emergency services declared a "drone threat." The drone attack in the Ryazan region was confirmed by the local governor, Pavlo Malkov.
Additionally, social media users reported the presence of drones in the sky over the Voronezh region. There, the "operation of air defense systems" was also heard, and the media reported damage to buildings in the Voronezh region supposedly "due to the downing of one of the aircraft-type drones."
It's worth noting that the Ryazan oil refinery is located in the city of Ryazan and is part of the NK "Rosneft." The stated maximum processing capacity of the refinery is 17-18 million tons of oil per year, with the majority of the products being exported.
