On the night of February 20, 2025, Russian forces launched a combined strike with various types of air-launched, ground-launched, and sea-launched missiles targeting critical infrastructure in the Kharkiv region.

This is reported on Telegram by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A total of up to 14 missiles were used: cruise missiles — X-101/X-55SM (launched from the Volgograd region), Kalibr/Iskander-K (from the Black Sea/Crimea); ballistic missiles — Iskander-M/KN-23 (launched from the Voronezh region). Information regarding the combat results and consequences of the missile strike has not been disclosed.

In addition, the Russians attacked with 161 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drone decoys from the following directions: Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russia.

To repel the air attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved.

As of 10:00, 80 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed downed in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.

78 drone decoys were lost at specific locations (without negative consequences).

As a result of the attack, the Kharkiv, Sumy, Odessa, and Kyiv regions were affected. In the Kherson region, a guided aerial bomb strike partially destroyed the entrance of an apartment building, leaving casualties. Rescue operations are ongoing.
