Ukrainian military continues defense on the Avdiivka front, as reported in the morning briefing on December 4 by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Our soldiers are holding the defense steadfastly, causing significant losses to the enemy. The defense forces successfully repelled 21 enemy attacks in the areas east of Novokalynove and Novobakhmutivka, as well as in the areas of Stepove, Avdiivka, Siverske, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region," the statement reads.
Overall, during the past 24 hours, there were 68 combat clashes, as noted by the General Staff.
"In total, the enemy carried out one missile and 45 aviation strikes, conducted 49 shelling attacks from reactive volley fire systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas," report Ukrainian military sources.
According to the General Staff, over the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation conducted eight strikes on areas with concentrations of personnel, armaments, and military equipment, two on anti-aircraft missile complexes, and two on ammunition depots. Additionally, missile units targeted a heavy flamethrower system with volley fire and the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system.
