During a visit to Kyiv, Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide announced a new energy support package for Ukraine ahead of winter.
"Today, we are announcing a support package of €250 million specifically for energy infrastructure. We are working with the Ukrainian authorities and international partners to support repairs and assist with new modern infrastructure," he said at a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart in Kyiv on Thursday.
Also during his visit to Kyiv, Espen Barth Eide expressed support for the Victory Plan presented by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"We welcome the Victory Plan. We believe it is very good that President Zelensky has presented it to your parliament this year, and that it is now in the EU and also engaging with key players. We received a good explanation of the Victory Plan in Odesa along with my colleagues from the Nordic and Baltic countries, and we support this plan," he said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian colleague Andrii Sybiga in Kyiv.
According to Eide, Norway believes this will help foster a productive dialogue between Ukraine and its allies.
"And it depends on you, but it also depends on us, and how you will first win the war, but also how you will secure guarantees that there will be no more wars after victory," the minister added.
He emphasized that an important aspect of the Victory Plan is Ukraine's future contribution to European security through its significant military resources and technologies.
