The Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, will visit Moldova and Poland from January 29 to February 1, 2024, where she will discuss assistance to Ukraine, including in Warsaw.

During her visit to Warsaw, she will meet with her Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski and the Speaker of the Polish Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, to discuss "relevant plans" for further support to Ukraine, according to the press release.
According to the announcement, she also plans to discuss the advancement of human rights, prevention of threats to regional security from Russia and Belarus, as well as identifying further opportunities for cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels.
In addition, Joly plans to meet with representatives of humanitarian organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, the "Ukrainian House" Foundation, and the Center for Education and Development, which support Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
Earlier, Ukraine and Canada held another round of negotiations on the future bilateral "security assurance" agreement – following the joint declaration of support for Ukraine adopted by the countries of the G7 on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
