In March-April, Ukrgazvydobuvannya received 102 diesel power stations from the USAID Energy Security Project (ESP) to ensure uninterrupted operation of its facilities.

According to the press service of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, the supplier of the diesel power stations was Tetra Tech ES, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

"These stations will be used as emergency stationary power sources to supply electricity to repair bases, production facilities, and machinery involved in gas extraction. We are very grateful to our international partners who have provided us with this assistance - it is extremely relevant to support Ukrainian extraction amidst the destruction of the country's energy infrastructure," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of the Naftogaz Group.

It is expected that USAID will also provide additional security measures for the Group's gas extraction facilities against Russian attacks.

"USAID is helping Ukraine prepare for winter. Every day our company faces numerous challenges related to the war. During these difficult times, assistance from international partners is very important to us, and we thank them once again," added Oleh Tolmachev, the head of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

In February 2024, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) delivered 57 cogeneration units with capacities ranging from 50 to 1500 kW to communities in Ukraine as part of the Energy Security Project (ESP).

It was noted at the time that for stable heat and energy supply during the winter period, USAID would procure 91 cogeneration units for 32 cities in Ukraine and two universities.

Thanks to these units, heat supply enterprises will be able to generate an additional 56.5 MW of electricity for their own needs and provide heat to approximately 1 million citizens and 960 social infrastructure objects: schools, hospitals, as well as other critical local infrastructure such as water supply systems.
