The underground hospital, designed to provide primary medical care and stabilize the condition of wounded soldiers, marks the first in a large-scale project being implemented by the Ministry of Defense in coordination with the Medical Forces "East." The project aims to construct over two dozen underground stabilization points.

The first such stabilization point is located near the front line and is intended to offer medical assistance to Ukrainian defenders in the safest possible conditions.

The hospital is built from six enlarged steel bunkers, each measuring 7.6 meters in length and 2.5 meters in diameter. The facility is equipped with ventilation systems, water supply, wastewater systems, and alternative power sources.

"These underground stabilization points are critically important for saving the lives of our soldiers. In the context of intense combat, we must ensure maximum protection and rapid medical care for our heroes. This is the first step in a large-scale project that will strengthen our medical infrastructure and enable even more effective support for the front-line defenders," emphasized Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov.

For additional protection, the stabilization point is also equipped with electronic warfare (EW) systems. The total investment in the project exceeds 20 million hryvnias.

According to the acting commander of the Medical Forces "East," Roman Kuzev, the new underground hospital is the best among existing stabilization points.

"It can provide medical care to more than 100 patients daily, saving hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers' lives. I hope the number of such facilities will grow," he noted.

The underground hospital includes two full operating rooms, two intensive care units, a working space, and a rest module for medical personnel. It is equipped with modern medical devices, including oxygen concentrators, ventilators, cardiac monitors, and defibrillators.

The organization of the underground space and its technical equipment, designed by the Medical Forces "East," meets NATO standards for second-echelon field hospitals (Role/Echelon 2). The hospital can not only stabilize the wounded but also perform up to four surgeries simultaneously.

This project represents a significant step in enhancing medical support for Ukrainian military personnel on the front lines.

The construction of the first stabilization point was realized by the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the Metinvest Group.
