The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is launching DOT-Chain Defence System, a module based on the DOT-Chain IT system, which will regulate the procurement and supply of drones to the military.
This was announced during a meeting between the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA), and representatives of domestic drone manufacturers.
Around 200 companies developing advanced unmanned technologies for Ukraine's Defense Forces attended the meeting.
"These innovations burn enemy tanks, destroy bunkers, infantry, and shoot down Russian helicopters. They conduct reconnaissance, assist with logistics and evacuation, capture enemy soldiers, and travel thousands of kilometers to strike critical enemy targets. We aim to ensure the supply of the best drones to our soldiers in the required quantity without obstacles or delays," emphasized Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
During the meeting, a new model for UAV procurement and new interaction rules between the state, military, and businesses were presented.
"Modern warfare requires modern solutions. Today, drones perform a wide range of tasks—not only helping to eliminate the enemy but also saving the lives of our defenders. Our main goal is to stimulate the development of Ukraine’s UAV market and meet the military’s needs. This requires a competitive environment, clear rules, and production planning opportunities," explained Arsen Zhumadilov, Acting Head of the DPA.
The introduction of DOT-Chain Defence System in drone procurement will ensure:
- Faster and targeted supply to the Armed Forces – units will independently choose the equipment they actually need, reducing delivery times from months to weeks.
- Defense industry development – manufacturers will gain opportunities to scale production based on verified system data.
- Process transparency – clear rules will foster competition and increase transparency in procurement.
"The DOT-Chain Defence System will allow brigades to independently select the UAVs they need based on battlefield conditions. At the same time, we are making the drone market more predictable and understandable for companies, enabling them to plan production more efficiently," noted the Minister of Defense.
