The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court to recover the Ukrainian assets of the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

According to a statement posted on the website of the Ministry of Justice, the aluminum that the Deripaska-linked plant supplies to Russian defense enterprises is produced from Ukrainian raw materials.

"The Ministry of Justice received information that the Rusal group, controlled by Oleg Deripaska, supplies aluminum to Russian enterprises of the defense complex that work for the needs of the Russian armed forces. At the same time, part of the aluminum products is made from raw materials of Ukrainian origin - namely, the production of the Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery Plant ," says the statement on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

“Deripaska has been sanctioned by both Ukraine and the US, EU, UK, Poland, the Swiss Confederation, Australia, and New Zealand… the sanctioned person is a Russian citizen, supports the Putin regime, because he is attracted to benefit from the Russian government and the production of armored vehicles, used by the aggressor country in the war against Ukraine, - said Deputy Minister of Justice, Irina Mudra. - The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has collected a sufficient evidence base to apply to the VACC regarding the recovery of its assets in Ukraine to the state's income."
