Erik Svedahl, new appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine, visited privately Odessa and attended the monthly dinner of the Odessite business community, accompanied by the Norwegian Honorary Consul Oleg Fomychov.
The Odessa Gentlemenâs Dinner gathers each month some of the most representative managers, entrepreneurs, bankers and lawyers of the City. Among the regular attendees also some diplomats from the local foreign consulates, officials of EU missions and expatriates.
The evening took place at Bernardazzi Restaurant and was consisted in a wine aperitif, to stimulate a free conversation and networking among the attendees, and a served dinner, where guests seat randomly around the tables and in order to make new acquaintances. Before the end of the dinner the special guest offered a speech and was available for a âquestions & answersâ moment.
The Ambassador spoke in a fluent Russian, because in his previous assignments worked at the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow and then at the General Consulate of Norway in Murmansk. The main topics of his speech touched the state of the Norwegian-Ukrainian relations and the economic sectors where the two Countries can increase their exchanges.
Some managers interested in accessing Norwegian market received useful information and contacts from the two representatives of the Kingdom of Norway.
Before Russia, Svedahl has formerly been Minister Counsellor with the Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok and Counsellor with the Embassy in Beijing.
