On February 20 at 17:00, the premiere of Stanislav Lyudkevych's cantata-symphony "Caucasus" will take place in the Odesa National Opera, dedicated to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred Day. This monumental musical work, inspired by Taras Shevchenko's poem, pays tribute to the Ukrainian people's struggle for freedom.
The performance will feature the choir and orchestra of the theatre, conducted by Honored Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Koval. The director of the premiere is Tamara Forsyuk, with Honored Art Worker of Ukraine Valerii Rehrut as the chief choirmaster.
The cantata-symphony "Caucasus" not only reveals the emotional depth of the struggle for independence but also makes it relevant for modern listeners. A key element of the performance will be video content that enhances the piece, recreating the most painful moments of Ukraine's history: the Holodomor, repression, wars, and enslavement. The video sequence will showcase the continuity of the struggle and the unwavering spirit of the nation.
The performance calls for unity, focusing on faith in victory with the final message: "Fight, and you will overcome!"
