The Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 162 drones from 5 directions

On the night of February 22, 2025 (starting at 19:00 on February 21), the Russian forces launched an attack with 162 Shahed-type strike drones and various decoy UAVs from five directions: Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).

The attack was countered by aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare forces, and mobile fire teams of Ukraine's Air Force and Defense Forces.

As of 08:00, 82 Shahed drones and other UAVs were confirmed shot down over the regions of Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk.

Additionally, 75 Russian decoy drones were lost from radar tracking without causing harm.

Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk regions suffered damages from the attack.
