After a period of relative calm, the Rusian forces has resumed efforts to improve its tactical position near the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.

This was reported during a TV broadcast by Major Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of forces Khortytsia.

"Regarding prospects in the Pokrovsk direction: the Russians were quite exhausted over the past two months. During the first 10 days of March, they took a pause. During this pause, the number of combat engagements in the area sharply decreased, but then it started rising again. This means the Russians have simply recovered and are now attempting to improve their tactical position near Pokrovsk. However, the intensity has not reached the levels seen in February, mainly because there are fewer Russians now. Both their numbers and equipment are reduced. The soldiers fighting in those areas – Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad – say there are fewer Russians," Trehubov noted.

At the same time, he added that Russian forces cannot abandon this direction, as it remains part of their strategic plans to control this area of Donetsk region.

Trehubov also mentioned that during January and February, the Russian forces suffered significant losses near Pokrovsk.
