The Security Service reported the suspicion to Vitaly Korol, a staff member of the 5th Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation, who, before the war, created an extensive agent network of local law enforcement officers in the Kherson Region to collect intelligence.

In July 2021, SBU employees exposed this network and detained its members. Among them was an active employee of the regional department of the special service.

During the long pre-trial investigation, the crimes of this intelligence group's Moscow "curator" were identified and documented.

After all, she collected secret information about the mobilization deployment of Ukrainian special forces and the algorithms of their countersubversive actions, particularly on the territory of the Kherson seaport, and the results of tactical and special command and staff exercises in the region.

The network also "reported" on the socio-political situation in the Black Sea regions of Ukraine.

Collected information with the "Confidential" and "Top Secret" labels was transferred to their curator in the Russian Federation through a prearranged electronic encrypted communication channel.

According to operational data, the exposed FSB employee is now participating in full-scale aggression against our state.

Comprehensive measures are underway to locate and bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

Investigative and operative actions were carried out by employees of the Main Investigative Department and the Department of Counterintelligence of the SBU under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office.
