The Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine uncovered another FSB agent within the Defense Forces. The agent turned out to be the head of the medical unit of a Ukrainian combat brigade, recruited by the Russia, who was directing Russian aerial attacks across three regions of Ukraine.

According to case materials, the Russians used the “mole” to guide missile and drone strikes on Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions.

The investigation revealed that the Russian primary targets were Ukrainian military ammunition depots and drone systems. The FSB also hoped to obtain from the agent the coordinates of medical warehouses and special transport fleets that deliver medical supplies to the front line.

To carry out these tasks, the official traveled between military units and logistics bases in northern Ukraine under the guise of work trips. While on-site, he marked their locations on Google Maps for subsequent “reports” to the FSB.

In exchange for cooperation, the occupiers offered the agent money and promised to “evacuate” him to relatives in Russia.

The SSU’s military counterintelligence exposed the Russian plot, documented the crimes of the “mole,” and detained him at his workplace. Simultaneously, the Security Service carried out measures to secure Defense Forces locations.

According to investigators, the official was recruited through Telegram channels where he had encouraged Ukrainians to surrender to Russia.

During searches, the SSU seized a smartphone and laptop from which he coordinated his actions with his FSB handler.

The suspect is in custody without the right to bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
