The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile strike on the Chongar Bridge, which connects the occupied Ukrainian territories – Crimea and the left-bank part of Kherson region. The bridge across the Tonka Strait, which connects the city of Henichesk in Kherson region with Arabat Spit, was also under attack. Representatives of the Russian occupation authorities in Ukrainian regions reported this incident, but there has been no official confirmation of the strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at this time.

According to Sergey Aksyonov, the head of Russian-occupied Crimea, there is damage to the road surface on the Chongar Bridge, although, as he claims, some of the missiles were intercepted. A similar report comes from the so-called "acting governor" of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, who stated that a total of 12 rockets were fired by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with nine of them being intercepted.

As a result of the attack, the operation of the "Chongar" checkpoint, one of the three on the border between Crimea and Kherson region, has been temporarily suspended, according to the "Ministry of Transport of occupied Crimea." However, the Armyansk and Perekop checkpoints continue to operate normally.
