Ukrainian developer of autonomous drone control systems, NORDA Dynamics, has successfully closed a $1 million funding round. The lead investor was Varangians, a Swedish investment firm launched in 2025. Additional funding came from Ukrainian funds Angel One and MITS Capital, the angel syndicate United Angels Network, and the U.S.-based Unpopular VC.

The company plans to allocate the new capital to expanding production and its engineering team, as well as developing new products to enhance the autonomy of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). NORDA’s engineers create solutions that allow drones to execute missions without operator involvement, even in complex combat or isolated environments. Its products are integrated with dozens of Ukrainian drone manufacturers and have been tested under real combat conditions.

“Funding is not just money for us; it’s confirmation that our war-tested technologies have a global future in European and overseas markets. We were among the first in the world to scale autonomy modules to tens of thousands of combat missions, and now we’re ready for the next stage,” said Nazar Bigun, co-founder and CEO of NORDA Dynamics to dev.ua.

Since its founding in 2024, NORDA has focused on autonomous drone control systems capable of operating without GPS, conventional communications channels, or under active electronic warfare conditions. The demand for such solutions has surged since 2022, as modern combat increasingly occurs in communication-denied and navigation-denied environments, the CEO explained.

Among NORDA’s flagship products is the Underdog universal autonomy module, described as the most widely used UAV autopilot system in combat zones. Another key product, StableLink, stabilizes drones’ azimuth and altitude, ensuring precise positioning even under intense electronic warfare and GPS-denied conditions. StableLink is already deployed in relay drones and mine-laying UAVs, guaranteeing accurate autonomous mission execution.

Pär Lager, CEO of Varangians, praised NORDA’s team: “We have evaluated many strong companies in Ukraine’s defense tech sector, and NORDA is among the best. The company addresses a critical battlefield challenge and possesses the team and capabilities to continue developing innovative solutions.”

Varangians, founded in Sweden by Lager, Andreas Flodström, and Jonas Rydin, with support from a leading family office, aims to accelerate the development of defense technologies for Ukraine, support European rearmament using Ukrainian innovations, and create long-term economic value for stakeholders.
