The historical entrance doors of the Odessa National Art Museum, which were damaged during the Russian shelling in November 2023, have now been fully restored.

This restoration was carried out by the dedicated team behind the "Thousand Doors of Odessa" project.

The restoration work included repairing numerous damages, reinforcing the door frame, and meticulously returning the decorative fillets—decorative elements in the form of panels with molding or ornament—to their original state.

To enhance the structure and ensure the doors' longevity, they were coated with a special azure finish and treated with a protective oil. The team also cleaned and restored the brass lions that once served as door knockers, alongside the original lock and bolts. Remarkably, even the door chain limiter has been refurbished, now ready to perform its function once again.

This restoration is not only a testament to the resilience of Odessa's cultural heritage but also to the ongoing efforts to preserve the city's historical treasures despite the challenges posed by the war.
