The Civil Guard of Spain detained three pro-Russian hackers, suspected of being part of a group targeting NATO countries that support Ukraine.

According to reports from Europa Press, the arrests occurred in the Balearic Islands and Andalusia, where searches were conducted in their homes, and materials were confiscated.

Authorities believe the cybercriminals are linked to the hacker group NoName057(16), which emerged after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This group claims to "respond to hostile and openly anti-Russian actions of Western Russophobes."

NoName057(16) conducts DDoS attacks on websites of public and private companies, government organizations, and critical infrastructure of Ukraine's allies, including NATO countries.

Last month, the NoName057(16) group targeted a division of Santa Barbara Systems in Spain, which repairs Leopard tanks destined for Ukraine.

The Civil Guard of Spain stated that the investigation continues to identify other participants in the attacks.
