An expert working group has reviewed the latest recovery projects under the joint Ukraine Recovery Programme III with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and recommended nine projects for funding, with a total budget of UAH 1.1 billion.

According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, local communities were able to submit proposals for recovery and development funding between September 11 and 30. In total, 677 applications worth UAH 24.2 billion were received.

About one-third of the requests (UAH 8.6 billion) concern heating, water supply, wastewater systems, and distributed generation networks. More than 120 applications (UAH 6.8 billion) involve the construction of medical facilities, nearly 140 projects (UAH 4.4 billion) focus on building shelters in communities, kindergartens, and hospitals, and almost 130 (UAH 2.3 billion) aim to complete schools and kindergartens, set up school meal factories (UAH 1 billion), build housing for internally displaced persons (UAH 0.15 billion), and improve accessibility (UAH 0.85 billion).

Following the first meeting, the expert group excluded some projects and recommended nine for implementation, totaling UAH 1.1 billion.

These include four applications within the Barrier-Free Movement project in the Volyn and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, and five projects for the construction of school meal factories in Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, and Sumy regions. These facilities will provide over 50,000 standardized meals for children daily.

Pilot projects have already been launched in Bucha and Lozova (Kharkiv region) as part of the nationwide school nutrition reform initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine.
