Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles signed an agreement on the training of Ukrainian military personnel during their meeting, as reported by Umerov on Facebook.
"I had a productive meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Spain, Margarita Robles. We discussed key issues of joint security and further strengthening the Defense Forces of Ukraine," Umerov wrote.
The Minister of Defense noted that an agreement was signed during the meeting to enhance the training of Ukrainian troops.
"Following the negotiations, we signed an important agreement on the training of Ukrainian military personnel, which will elevate our cooperation to a new level," emphasized Umerov. The parties identified priority areas of cooperation, focusing particularly on deepening industrial interaction, strengthening air defense systems, and supplying ammunition and armored vehicles.
Robles also presented detailed plans for Spanish assistance to Ukraine in 2025.
According to Umerov, the Spanish side expressed significant interest in studying Ukraine’s experience in modern warfare.
"I sincerely thank Spain for its steadfast support since the first days of the full-scale invasion, especially for military aid and training our defenders," concluded the Ukrainian Defense Minister.
