Within the framework of a joint project involving the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the European Commission's "Ray of Hope," several batches of solar panels produced by Enel S.p.A. have arrived in Ukraine.

This includes 5,876 solar panels with a total capacity of approximately 2 MW, all of which will be handed over to meet the needs of Ukrainian hospitals.

The initiative was previously announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the relevant agreements were reached through the collaborative efforts of Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.

"We thank our European partners for their support. Equipment assistance, namely solar panels, is crucial to meet the energy needs of hospitals. This will ensure the operation of life-saving medical equipment for thousands of Ukrainians," stated Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko.

"In the face of Russia's constant attacks on Ukraine's energy system, medical infrastructure becomes highly vulnerable. Power outages affect hospital operations. To ensure uninterrupted medical care for patients, we are equipping medical facilities with alternative energy sources, including solar panels. This is an important step towards energy independence and the stable operation of medical institutions. We are grateful to our international partners and friends for their support," said Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.

The energy equipment will be delivered to healthcare facilities in the Zhytomyr, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Odessa regions. Additional equipment for installing solar panels will be purchased with funds from the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. The number of healthcare facilities receiving equipment will increase in the future.
