Ukraine is preparing a lawsuit against Russia at the UN International Court of Justice to fully compensate for the damage caused to the environment. Acting Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets wrote on his Facebook page.

According to preliminary estimates, the unprecedented environmental damage from the fire at the oil depot in the village of Kryachky, Vasylkiv district, Kyiv region, amounts to UAH 810 bln.

Experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the State Ecological Inspectorate are currently working on accurate calculations. But I am sure that the amount will only increase. We add it to the general basket of damage caused by the occupiers. I want to reassure Ukrainians that the current environmental situation is under control, your life and health are not in danger. And the occupiers will definitely pay for the damage to the environment of Ukraine and all crimes against our state!
