Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valerii Churkin has proposed that international partners test their products during active combat and called for the establishment of long-term partnerships.
He made this statement while speaking at the Estonian-Ukrainian Defense Industry Forum held in Kyiv. The event was attended by Estonia’s Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur, Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency Arsen Zhumadilov, as well as representatives of the defense industries of both countries, government officials, and experts.
“Estonia is a true friend of our country, and we must strengthen our industrial cooperation. Among the opportunities Ukraine offers to international partners are the testing of products under real combat conditions and the development of long-term partnerships through joint ventures,” said Valerii Churkin.
The Deputy Minister outlined key areas where the Defense Forces of Ukraine require support from Estonian allies, including anti-drone solutions and the modernization of weapons already in use on the battlefield.
He also thanked Estonia for its consistent and strong support.
Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur expressed hope that the Estonian-Ukrainian Defense Industry Forum would become a platform for creating new opportunities in defense production and technology exchange.
“Estonia is ready to share its experience in IT and digital transformation,” Pevkur emphasized.
