At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a working meeting was held with representatives of government bodies and businesses to enhance cooperation with African countries in the agro-industrial sector.

The event was chaired by the Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Maksym Subkh, and the Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Vysotsky.

Participants included both online and offline the Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, MP Oleksandr Haiduk, representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the leadership of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the international export promotion platform Nazovni, the head of the Ukrainian-African Trade Mission Artem Gudkov, ambassadors and chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in 10 African countries, as well as representatives from over 70 Ukrainian agro-industrial companies.

The event took place within the framework of Ukraine's foreign policy strategy aimed at strengthening Ukrainian-African relations and fulfilling the goals set by President Volodymyr Zelensky during the 2024 meeting of heads of Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad regarding the importance of enhancing interaction with African countries.

Taras Vysotsky highlighted that the African markets have significant potential for the development of business and production relations for the Ukrainian agro-sector. Specifically, in the short term, this involves exporting Ukrainian products to the continent, while in the medium and long term, it includes the possibility of developing technological partnerships.

In line with the agreements reached during the African tour of Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in August this year, the participants discussed the interaction and support for Ukrainian producers entering African markets, as well as expanding trade and economic cooperation with African countries.
