Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed Kuwait's decision to complete the domestic legal procedures required for the entry into force of the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Kuwait on cooperation in the military and other fields.

He announced this on X.

“I am grateful to the Аmir and the Government of Kuwait, as well as to my colleague Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah, for their support and facilitation. The entry into force of this Agreement marks a new stage in the Ukrainian-Kuwaiti partnership across military-technical, defense, and security spheres,” Sybiha said.

Ukraine's top diplomat stressed that this step creates opportunities for joint projects, the exchange of expertise and advanced technologies, and the deepening of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.

“Ukraine, which faces Russian aggression every day, has accumulated unique experience in defending the state against modern security threats. This step serves as a logical continuation of Ukraine’s wider strategy of deepening ties and security cooperation with the Gulf states,” Sybiha said.

He also noted that this spring, under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine concluded a number of important agreements in the region.

“The Ukraine-Kuwait agreement provides a timely response to the ongoing Iranian air attacks against Kuwait and other Gulf states, the latest of which took place last night,” Sybiha wrote.

Ukraine once again expressed its full solidarity with Kuwait and the other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

“We resolutely condemn any infringements on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kuwait and other states of the Gulf Cooperation Council,” Sybiha said.

He also expressed confidence that cooperation between Ukraine and Kuwait would make a significant contribution to strengthening the regional security architecture and enhancing the defense capabilities of Ukraine and its partners in the Gulf region, adding that the ultimate goal is to achieve peace, stability, and prosperity throughout the Middle East.
