Ukraine exported agricultural products worth $22.53 billion in 2025, which is 8.8% or $2.15 billion less than the previous year, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) reports.

“Despite the decline in foreign currency revenue, the agricultural sector’s share in the total goods export structure in 2025 was 56.1%. Although this percentage is slightly lower than the record 61% in 2023, the sector continues to generate more than half of the country’s income from foreign trade,” the association noted.

According to analysts, the most noticeable trend was the reduction of agri-exports to the European Union. While the EU’s share in Ukrainian agricultural exports consistently exceeded 50% from 2022 to 2024, it fell to 47.5% ($10.7 billion) in 2025.

“Factors contributing to this include changes in logistics routes and tighter regulatory restrictions in the European market. There is also a general slowdown in trade dynamics: the trade balance with the EU dropped to $6.06 billion, compared to $8.87 billion in 2024,” UCAB explained.

They also noted that, against declining export revenues, there was an opposite trend in imports. In 2025, Ukraine’s purchases of foreign agricultural products rose to a five-year high of $8.75 billion.

“While the share of agricultural goods in Ukraine’s total imports has remained stable at around 10.8% over the last four years, spending on imported food products has been increasing annually. At the same time, in 2025, more than 53% of all agri-imports ($4.64 billion) came from EU countries, highlighting the deep integration of Ukraine’s consumer market with Europe,” the association concluded.
