The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), has presented the first-ever outlook on Ukraine’s agrarian market. This report analyzes the dynamics and structure of production and exports of the country’s agricultural and food products in global markets in 2024.

The document covers key areas of crop and livestock production, from wheat, corn, and vegetable oil to dairy products and poultry meat. It provides detailed insights into production results, key influencing factors, and preliminary forecasts for the sector.

The outlook highlights major export directions, examines the evolution of export logistics routes, and assesses the role of Ukraine’s agrarian sector in shaping the country’s economy and contributing to global food security.

“This outlook consolidates information that will help our international and European partners better understand the structure and scale of Ukraine’s agricultural sector. It dispels myths about Ukraine potentially ‘flooding’ international markets, particularly the EU. I am convinced that this study will serve as a valuable tool for enhancing transparency and deepening understanding of Ukraine’s agricultural sector during wartime. Openness in relations with our international partners, especially the EU, is the key to our shared prosperity,” emphasized Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the study, despite the direct damage and losses of over $80 billion caused by the full-scale invasion, the role of Ukraine’s agrarian sector remains significant. In 2024, agriculture accounted for 59.3% ($24.7 billion) of Ukraine’s foreign currency revenue from goods exports, compared to 40.7% ($27.7 billion) in 2021.

At the same time, in recent years, the EU’s share in Ukrainian agricultural exports has never dropped below 50%, underscoring the critical importance of the European market not only for Ukrainian producers but also for the country’s economy as a whole.

According to UCAB’s CEO Oleg Khomenko, this document will serve as a valuable source of information for stakeholders, a catalyst for international cooperation, and a driver of innovation and investment in Ukraine’s agricultural future.

UCAB expresses its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for its support and active involvement in preparing and developing this study.
