The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces the TERMIT ground robotic system developed by Ukrainian manufacturer Tencore. Here's what is known about this drone.

"TERMIT is a tracked robotic system. This is a new iteration of the platform. Many units of the previous model are already operating on the front line. They are used, for example, for logistical tasks and observing enemy movements," the Ministry of Defense notes.

According to the manufacturer Tencore, TERMIT’s technical specifications are as follows:

  • Weight: 280 kg
  • Payload capacity: 300 kg
  • Operating time: up to 12 hours
  • Speed: 10 km/h
  • Range: 20 km
  • Control radius: up to 20 km
  • Cost: from $12,000

"Thanks to its low profile, low center of gravity, and tracked chassis, this ground robot can move across various terrain types and surfaces: rough off-road conditions, steep slopes, trenches, and obstacles. Its battery capacity allows several hours of continuous operation, during which the robot can cover dozens of kilometers," the Defense Ministry adds.

Developers highlight the platform’s high mobility and modularity. TERMIT can carry combat modules — including a Browning machine gun and an MK19 grenade launcher. It can also be used for logistics or mine-laying operations.

Tencore notes that TERMIT can be fitted with optional upgrades such as analog or digital communication systems, a Starlink Mini satellite communication module, additional armor plating, a winch module, or the "Boombox" electronic warfare module.

More than 20 Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades are already using TERMIT systems for logistics, mine-laying, and combat. The new version features improved dynamic characteristics and offers further upgrade potential, the Ministry states.
