Ukrainian border guard, who “sent” a Russian warship, returned to his homeland and received an award

Border guard Roman Gribov, who served on Snake Island and on the first day of a large-scale war, became famous for his response to an ultimatum from the Russian missile cruiser Moskva, shouting to the invaders: “Russian warship, go f**k yourself”, returned home after captivity – in the Cherkasy region.

This was announced by the head of the Cherkasy military-civilian administration Igor Taburets.

He greeted the heroic defender of the border and presented him with the award “For Merit to Cherkasy”.

“I want to say a huge thank you to the Ukrainian people for their support. We feel it very much, it inspires us. We have strength, we have truth, together, we will win. Glory to Ukraine!” said Roman Gribov.

Recall that after the brave rebuff of the defenders of the Serpent, the island was subjected to rocket fire. The next day, information appeared that all the servicemen on it were killed. Later it turned out that a group of Ukrainian soldiers survived and were taken prisoner. A few days ago, they returned to their homeland as part of the prisoner exchange procedure with the Russian Federation.
