As part of the visit to the French Republic, the Ukrainian delegation, comprising Minister for Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, held its first multilateral meeting at the Élysée Palace.
The negotiations involved representatives of countries within the coalition of the willing: Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France Emmanuel Bonne, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Jonathan Powell, and Foreign Policy and Security Adviser to the Federal Chancellor of Germany Jens Plötner.
The parties exchanged views on further steps to advance a sustainable and lasting peace, in particular the implementation of a full ceasefire, the deployment of a multinational military contingent to guarantee security, and the development of an effective security architecture for Ukraine.
"We discussed further steps toward achieving a just and lasting peace. In particular, we coordinated positions on implementing a full ceasefire, involving a multinational military contingent, and creating an effective security architecture for our country. Work on security guarantees with our partners continues. Our priority is a result that will ensure reliable peace for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," wrote Rustem Umerov.
